About Me

Adam Clark is a nationally acclaimed reporter who specializes in longform journalism. He focuses on stories that explore culture and humanity with an emphasis on mental health.

Adam was named 2024’s Innovator of The Year by The Poynter Journalism Prizes for his “bold new approach” to digital storytelling.  His series of revealing portraits of the teen mental health crisis has been honored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s New Jersey chapter, which recognized him with its Lifesaver Award in 2023.

Adam’s influential reporting on predatory teachers spurred a state law mandating stronger background checks for school employees, and his investigation into a 30-year-old cold case prompted a fresh look by prosecutors, culminating in a pro wrestling legend’s indictment for  murder.

Adam is currently an enterprise/investigative reporter for The Star-Ledger and NJ.com, New Jersey’s largest media outlet. His work there has been recognized by the Online News Association, Education Writers Association and Society For Features Journalism.

Previously, Adam specialized in education reporting for The Morning Call in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
